by Harry

Rosetown Central High School (RCHS) has received a $10,000 DEWALT Tool Grant, providing students with access to high-quality tools briefly used during the Skills Canada National Competition.

The grant will enhance hands-on learning opportunities in trades and technology programs such as cabinetmaking, carpentry, welding, and autobody.

Led by Practical and Applied Arts teacher Ken Dows, RCHS has long emphasized community engagement and skill development through student-led initiatives — from building accessible garden boxes for seniors to crafting sensory tables for local daycares.

The new tools will further empower all students, including those with special needs, to develop valuable practical skills while making meaningful contributions to their community.
