UL Solutions has opened a new state-of-the-art battery testing facility in Aachen, Germany, to support growing demand for electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage system testing in Europe.
The Europe Advanced Battery Laboratory will offer testing, simulation, and certification services for both automotive and stationary battery technologies. This new facility strengthens UL Solutions’ presence in Europe and significantly expands its global battery testing capabilities.
Built from the ground up, the lab is designed to test batteries during early research and development stages, as well as evaluate finished battery products for safety and performance. These services will help original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) confirm that their products meet industry standards and are ready for global markets.
“Our Aachen facility is a response to the rising need for trusted battery testing in the EV and energy sectors,” said UL Solutions. “It supports the development of safer, more efficient batteries and helps speed innovation while maintaining strict safety and performance standards.”
The facility will play a key role in ensuring the reliability of next-generation battery technologies in Europe and beyond.
