Hadavi recently visited a leading compressor manufacturer showcasing its latest advancements in industrial compressor design and production.
The company has successfully developed explosion-proof screw compressors and specialized models for handling corrosive, toxic, and neutral gases. These products not only meet domestic industry demands but also comply with international standards, enabling entry into regional markets.
Currently, the company holds an innovation certificate and is working towards obtaining an official knowledge-based certification from authorities.
In a related breakthrough last December, Iranian researchers at another knowledge-based firm achieved the indigenization of centrifugal compressors used in the oil and gas sectors.
Alireza Sadri, managing director of the company, explained that centrifugal compressors are dynamic devices using rotating blades to increase the kinetic energy, pressure, and temperature of cooled gases.
He highlighted that these compressors can handle very large volumes of compressed fluid, often replacing several smaller compressors such as screw types. This capability helps optimize energy use, improve production efficiency, and reduce costs. The compressors produce a steady, uniform airflow, which prevents pressure shocks in the system.
Centrifugal compressors come in single-stage and multi-stage varieties. They can also be classified by lubrication system into drip, pressurized, and oil-free types. The oil-free models use frictionless magnetic bearings to reduce wear, increasing reliability and efficiency.
Sadri added that these compressors can deliver energy production up to 35,000 kW, making them ideal for industries requiring high pressure. They are compact, lightweight, and capable of working with a range of fluids, including helium and liquid nitrogen.
These innovations mark significant progress in Iran’s compressor technology, supporting both domestic needs and potential regional exports.
