Embraco, part of Nidec Global Appliance (GA) and a leading refrigeration technology provider, has announced plans to open a new manufacturing plant in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad), Maharashtra, India. This move reflects GA’s strategic commitment to expand its footprint in the growing Indian refrigeration market.
Production & Capacity: The facility will produce compressors for residential and commercial refrigeration, along with electronic components, targeting an annual capacity of 6 million units.
Investment & Scale: With an investment exceeding $120 million, the plant will span 55,000 square meters and is expected to begin operations in the second half of 2026.
Employment Impact: The facility is projected to generate 750–1,000 direct jobs, enhancing local employment and building technological expertise in refrigeration.
Strategic Importance: Alberto Casnati, President of Nidec Global Appliance, emphasized the significance of the investment in strengthening Embraco’s global strategy and catering to India’s rapidly growing refrigeration demand. He also acknowledged the critical support from both the Maharashtra state and Indian federal governments in facilitating this expansion.
