China’s CATL has unveiled three groundbreaking batteries, marking a major step forward in the evolution of electric vehicle technology.
The new batteries were introduced at CATL’s recent Tech Day and have made waves in the battery industry.
The first of these innovations is the Freevoy Dual Power Battery. Featuring a new dual-core architecture, this battery is said to offer a maximum all-electric range of 1,500 km.
This impressive range could potentially make long-distance hybrid vehicles obsolete, according to CATL. The battery design includes two separate energy zones: a main energy area and a secondary range extension area. Each zone uses different materials, which is a revolutionary approach in battery design.
