WEX has introduced a new feature that allows fleets with electric vehicles (EVs) to use the WEX Fleet Card at private charging stations.
This addition expands the WEX EV Depot service, providing a comprehensive EV charging and payment solution that includes depot, public, and at-home charging locations, according to a press release issued by the global commerce platform on April 28.
“As fleet managers transition from internal combustion engines to EVs, they face the challenge of managing data across various chargers and fueling stations for operational efficiency,” said Carlos Carriedo, Chief Operating Officer, Americas Payments & Mobility at WEX. “With WEX EV Depot, we are simplifying the infrastructure rollout and providing customers with the tools they need for efficient, large-scale operations with a complete 360-degree solution.”
WEX EV Depot integrates with a reporting system that allows fleets to manage EV charges from any charging source using their WEX fleet credit line, helping reduce the number of cards required for different charging stations.
The feature also lets fleets direct drivers to preferred charging locations at depots or private stations and schedule charging during overnight hours.
