”I Want To Mow Your Lawn” is a nonprofit connecting volunteers with seniors, veterans & disabled individuals for free yard care. Founded during COVID-19, the organization has grown to serve 100+ clients across six states. Their new website makes it easy for licensed landscapers to volunteer while helping maintain community well-being.
“I Want To Mow Your Lawn” Connects Volunteers with Communities in Need
A unique non-profit organization, I Want To Mow Your Lawn, Inc., is making waves by offering free, socially-distanced lawn care services to seniors, military veterans, disabled individuals, and underprivileged communities. The group recently launched a redesigned website, www.IWantToMowYourLawn.com, streamlining the process for licensed and insured landscaping professionals to volunteer their services.
Bridging Gaps in Community Care
Brian Schwartz, the organization’s founder and self-proclaimed “Chief Lawn Mower,” explained the mission behind the initiative.
“Many people can’t afford regular lawn maintenance or lack the physical ability to do it themselves,” Schwartz said. “We also wanted to extend our gratitude to military veterans who’ve served our country. This isn’t just about free lawn care—it’s about bringing communities together through small but meaningful acts of service.”
Since its inception during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the New Jersey-based organization has grown from a one-man operation to a network assisting over 100 clients across six states.
How It Works
The platform features a zip code-based search tool, allowing residents to easily connect with pre-screened volunteers. Both clients and landscapers receive automated scheduling reminders, and recipients can rate and review their service providers.
Landscaping professionals who join the network gain visibility through customizable profile pages, complete with before-and-after photo galleries. Volunteers can also opt to receive tips directly through their profiles.
Expanding Beyond Individual Volunteers
Beyond individual landscapers, the organization aims to partner with corporations focused on social responsibility, encouraging employee volunteerism. Additionally, the platform welcomes donations and sponsorships, with options that align with existing senior and military discount programs.
“A well-maintained community benefits everyone,” Schwartz emphasized. “This is a simple yet powerful way to serve others while fostering unity across neighborhoods.”
