Festo Canada Enhances Safety with Advanced Solenoid Valves and Coils

by jingji42

Festo Canada has reinforced its reputation for innovation with the launch of its new VOFC/VOFD solenoid valves and VACC solenoid coils, designed to deliver enhanced safety and reliability for the petroleum and chemical industries. These products minimize system failures and reduce maintenance costs by improving overall process safety.

Superior Resistance to Degradation

The VOFC and VOFD series are engineered for demanding applications, meeting stringent safety standards, including SIL3 for explosion protection. Certified by the German Technical Control Board (TÜV) in accordance with IEC 61508, these valves ensure compliance with the highest industry benchmarks.

Festo applies the Ematal surface treatment to the valve housing, creating a durable aluminum oxide layer with titanium oxide intercalations. This process enhances resistance to atmospheric and chemical degradation, making the valves suitable for both indoor and outdoor use while providing excellent wear resistance and smooth operation.

Optimized for Hazardous Environments

The 3/2- and 5/2-way VOFC and VOFD valves are specifically designed for controlling and safely deactivating pneumatic drives in explosive zones within chemical and petrochemical plants. Featuring NAMUR flange patterns, they are ideal for quarter-turn actuators. An integrated spring chamber ventilation function further protects actuators and single-acting cylinders from contamination and weather exposure.

Complementing these valves, the VACC series of solenoid coils supports multiple ignition protection types, including Ex-e-mb, Ex-ia, Ex-db, and Ex-d. The VACC-S13 coils are compatible with VOFC valves, covering Ex-ia and Ex-me protections, while the VACC-S18 coils pair with VOFD valves, supporting Ex-me and Ex-d standards.
