A Johnson City man accused of assaulting and robbing a victim with a screwdriver has been arrested in Knox County, according to the Johnson City Police Department (JCPD).
Taylor McClain, 32, was taken into custody on Monday and charged with aggravated robbery. The arrest follows an incident that took place shortly before 1:30 p.m. in a parking lot on the 500 block of North State of Franklin Road in Johnson City.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a victim with several minor injuries. The victim told police that McClain had attacked him with a screwdriver and stolen his wallet before fleeing. The victim provided a description of the suspect, which helped police identify and locate him.
JCPD obtained a warrant for McClain’s arrest. He was later located and arrested by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. Johnson City officers then traveled to Knox County to take him into custody.
McClain has since been transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
