Altilium, a leading UK clean technology group dedicated to accelerating the net-zero transition, has announced promising initial test results from its first industrial-scale production of electric vehicle (EV) battery cells using recycled materials. The assembly took place at the UK Battery Industrialisation Centre (UKBIC).
Electrochemical testing revealed that the recycled-material cells deliver performance comparable to those made from conventional primary materials, marking a significant milestone for sustainable battery production.
This breakthrough highlights the viability of recycled cathodes as an eco-friendly alternative to mined metals, advancing the future of circular battery manufacturing.
