Japan’s mower market is expected to see a slow but steady increase in demand over the next decade. Experts predict the market volume will grow at a modest rate of 0.5% annually from 2024 to 2035. By 2035, the total number of mowers sold is expected to reach 3.9 million units.
In terms of value, the market is forecast to grow slightly faster, with a 2.0% annual increase in revenue during the same period. This growth could push the market’s worth to $3.5 billion by 2035, based on wholesale prices.
However, 2024 showed a decline in mower sales. Consumption dropped by 5.8%, falling to 3.7 million units after two years of growth. Overall, mower sales have been fairly stable, with only small changes from year to year. The highest growth occurred in 2021, when sales rose by 5.4%. Sales reached a peak of 4.1 million units in 2022, but since then, sales have struggled to bounce back.
In 2024, the total value of the mower market in Japan decreased by 3% to $2.8 billion compared to the previous year. This figure includes the revenue of producers and importers but does not cover logistics, retail marketing, or retailer profit margins, which affect the final price consumers pay.
Despite the recent dip, the overall market trend remains relatively flat. The market value reached its highest point at $2.9 billion before declining slightly in 2024.
