Apple’s Next MagSafe Charger Could Triple Wireless Charging Speed to 50W

by Harry

Apple is gearing up to revolutionize wireless charging with its upcoming MagSafe chargers. According to recent regulatory filings, the new chargers could deliver up to 50 watts of wireless power—more than three times the output of the current MagSafe standard.

While these chargers look almost identical to existing models on the outside, their internal technology could mark Apple’s biggest leap in wireless charging yet.

Two new models, labeled A3502 and A3503, were recently spotted in Taiwan’s National Communications Commission (NCC) database. Reports from 91Mobiles reveal these chargers differ mainly in the length of their braided cables—one meter for the A3502 and two meters for the A3503.

The key upgrade lies beyond their design. These chargers are expected to support the upcoming Qi2.2 wireless charging standard, soon to be officially announced by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC). This new standard promises improved efficiency and faster wireless charging for compatible devices.
