Frascold has upgraded and expanded its ATEX HT series of semi-hermetic piston compressors, designed for use with hydrocarbon refrigerants. Originally intended for propane, the new range now also supports butane and isobutane, offering higher operating temperatures and improved performance.
The updated compressors can handle temperatures up to 135°C with butane, 115°C with isobutane, and 85°C with propane. They also offer greater flexibility, with the ability to run at just 25% of their maximum capacity, allowing for better efficiency and control.
The ATEX HT series is available in four sizes—S, V, Z, and W—each tailored to different performance needs:
S Series: The most compact model with four pistons, offering a volumetric displacement of 33 to 56 m³/h and motor power from 5 to 15 kW.
V Series: Includes four models reaching up to 93 m³/h and 24 kW.
Z Series: Features six pistons, delivering up to 126 m³/h and 30 kW.
W Series: The largest model, with eight pistons, provides a maximum displacement of 206 m³/h and 52 kW.
Optional permanent magnet motors can boost efficiency by 6%. The compressors also include reinforced valve plates that withstand pressure lifts over 30 bar and pistons with anti-friction coatings to reduce wear and ensure smoother start-ups.
