Green Point UK, the service division of refrigeration and heating specialist Bitzer, has launched a new compressor training program aimed at supporting UK-based engineers and technicians.
The initiative, based at Green Point’s headquarters in Milton Keynes, is designed to help refrigeration contractors and service technicians diagnose and repair Bitzer compressors more effectively.
Will Pribyl, general manager of Green Point UK, said the goal is to “demystify the compressor” and give engineers the confidence to perform repairs on-site.
“In many cases, we’re showing engineers how to fix minor issues, like replacing a degraded gasket, that could otherwise lead to full compressor replacements,” Pribyl explained. “Repair is better for the environment, better for budgets, and ultimately helps reduce downtime.”
The training sessions focus on real-world scenarios and components, such as oil-level controls and valve plates. Participants will learn how to assess whether a compressor is suitable for repair and how to carry out reconditioning work that meets Bitzer’s high standards.
By encouraging more repairs instead of replacements, Green Point aims to cut environmental impact, lower service costs, and extend equipment life for customers across the UK.
