In Europe, multi – headed Drill/Drivers with numerous attachments have been widely popular for years. It seems that in the last year or so, the USA has caught on to this trend, with several 12V options hitting the market.
12V Options in the USA
Festool, Bosch, and Milwaukee all offer 12V Drill/Drivers at a relatively affordable price point. The Festool CXS costs 229. These 12V units are compact in size yet deliver good performance, offering a great deal of versatility. Each has its own fan base due to their unique features and capabilities.
Bosch’s 18V Entry
Bosch has recently decided to bring its big – brother 18V brushless version to the USA. The GSR18V – 535FCB15 is priced at $299. Despite having a relatively compact design similar to its 12V counterparts, it offers a significant power boost. It can reach 535 in – lbs of torque, while all the 12V options max out at 300 in – lbs.
SDS – Plus Hammer Drill Attachment
This Bosch 18V option also comes with a Head Attachment for SDS – Plus Hammer Drill, the GFA – H, which is priced at $99. This attachment provides excellent hammer drilling performance, making it ideal for tasks such as drilling concrete anchors and small – diameter holes in concrete.
