Livium has signed a new and expanded recycling agreement with BYD Australia, extending its services beyond electric vehicle (EV) batteries to include commercial vehicle batteries and energy storage systems. The updated deal was announced via the ASX on Monday and officially began on May 1.
Under the three-year agreement, Livium’s subsidiary, Envirostream Australia, has been appointed BYD Australia’s preferred battery recycling partner. This new contract replaces a previous arrangement with BYD Auto Industry Company Limited and reflects BYD’s growing presence in the Australian clean energy and transportation markets.
“Expanding our recycling scope with the BYD Company group in Australia demonstrates the quality of Envirostream’s services,” said Livium CEO Simon Linge. “In the short time working together, our volume expectations have been exceeded, and we are excited to expand our partnership through this new agreement.”
The deal signals a significant step forward in battery sustainability efforts and supports the growing demand for environmentally responsible solutions in the energy transition.
