The Need for a Larger Metal Saw
While the M18 FUEL 5 – 3/8” saws have served well in many metal – cutting applications, there are times when a larger cutting capacity and more power are required. The new 8” metal saw fills this gap, eliminating the need to drag around a corded Milwaukee 8” saw (6370 – 21, $319).
Superior Performance
The M18 FUEL 8” metal saw is equipped with a beefy FUEL brushless motor. It claims to have a 30% faster cutting speed than its competitors, making it ideal for heavy – duty applications such as 1” thick plate steel, 2” black pipe, corrugated decking, and I – beams.
Kit and Bare Tool Options
The saw is available in two versions:
Kit (2982 – 21): Priced at $549, it comes with an 8.0Ah high – output battery. This battery allows for 120’ of cutting in corrugated decking, enabling near – continuous use with minimal battery switching.
Bare Tool (2982 – 20): Priced at $449.
Safety and Convenience Features
Overload Indicator Light and Protection: The saw is equipped with an overload indicator light and overload protection. If you’re pushing the saw too hard, it will turn off and alert you.
Chip Collection: Similar to other Milwaukee metal saws, it deflects and collects metal chips and sparks, keeping your work area clean.
