The product provides reliable performance in extreme conditions, withstanding continuous temperatures up to 343°C (650°F) while resisting heavy shock, vibration, and harsh chemical exposure.
Mike Wase, Loctite adhesive specialist at Henkel Canada, explains the straightforward removal process: “Applying localized heat to approximately 250°C (500°F) for about two minutes softens the adhesive, allowing easy disassembly with standard tools.” This thermal method makes the product particularly suitable for industrial maintenance scenarios where occasional fastener removal may be required despite the need for maximum holding strength during operation.
The Loctite 2620 formulation is designed for fasteners up to 19 mm (¾ inch) in size. For applications not requiring such extreme holding power, Henkel offers alternative threadlockers in different strength grades, including medium-strength blue formulations that can be removed without heat.
