Google’s upcoming Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro are set to introduce an advanced wireless charging feature—Qi2.2 with magnetic alignment, according to leaked marketing materials shared by Android Authority.
The inclusion of Qi2.2 marks a significant upgrade, allowing for easier attachment of accessories and more stable wireless charging. This move signals Google’s intent to build a MagSafe-style ecosystem, similar to what Apple introduced with the iPhone 12 lineup.
While Google previously hinted that future Pixel devices would adopt Qi2 wireless charging, the Pixel 10 series will be among the first Android smartphones to fully support the Qi2 magnetic charging standard, alongside devices like the HMD Skyline.
The phones will also include a ConvenientPower CPS4041 chip driver, enabling up to 60W wireless charging using the Magnetic Power Profile (MPP). However, actual charging speeds may be limited by Google to manage thermal performance and energy efficiency.
With this step, Google is positioning the Pixel 10 series as a frontrunner in next-generation wireless charging for Android, offering users a more seamless and efficient charging experience.
