Swedish fastener manufacturer BUMAX AB has made a significant investment to improve the quality of its products and strengthen its development capabilities.
Known for its consistent high-quality fasteners, BUMAX is now equipped with advanced tools to better verify product quality and meet rising customer demands more transparently.
“Our customers expect even higher quality and verification to match their strict applications and current standards,” said Jonas Forslund, Production Engineer at BUMAX. “To meet these needs, we’ve invested in new equipment and expertise within our own facilities.”
Jonas Nilsson-Öst, Quality Manager at BUMAX, added, “We sell premium products and must stay competitive by meeting our customers’ toughest requirements. This means offering not just quality products, but also testing and services that help customers optimize their fastener use.”
Some of the new equipment is already making a difference. The company added 120-ton and 25-ton tensile testing machines that measure the strength and deformation of fasteners from every batch before shipment. A new optical measuring machine can detect size variations as small as 0.0001 millimeters — about one-thousandth of what the human eye can see.
Additionally, BUMAX has introduced a new microsamples lab line to its research and development lab, enhancing quality testing capabilities.
A key part of the upgrade is new software that collects data from multiple machines and sources, providing detailed insights into material and manufacturing quality. The investment also includes a micro hardness tester and a magnetic permeability measuring device.
