Singapore has unveiled its newest fast electric vehicle (EV) chargers, each managed by different operators. These chargers are much faster than existing ones, capable of charging an EV to a 100km range in just 10 minutes.
In contrast, the city’s current EV chargers are much slower, primarily located in commercial and parking buildings, and are intended for overnight charging.
While the first four fast chargers are already available, 14 more will be installed in open-air car parks over the next six months. Installing these chargers in open-air spaces presents challenges. Operators explain that the layouts of these car parks are complex, with existing underground pipelines and communication lines adding to the difficulty.
