TKIL & Hoppecke Partner to Advance Battery Systems for Indian Railways

TKIL Industries, formerly known as Thyssenkrupp Industries India, has partnered with German battery manufacturer Hoppecke Batterie Systeme. Together, they will develop advanced battery systems for India’s rail sector.

Their work will focus on metro systems, regional trains, and locomotives. The first joint project is set to launch in 2025.

The partnership combines TKIL’s engineering and manufacturing strengths with Hoppecke’s expertise in industrial energy storage.

Company leaders said the collaboration will grow over time. They plan to build local service infrastructure and maintain a strong presence in the Indian market for the long term.
