Ford has introduced a new offer to help Irish customers switch to electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrids (PHEVs). The program, called the ‘Ford Power Promise,’ aims to remove common barriers to owning an electric car. It includes several benefits such as a free home charger, free servicing, free roadside rescue, and a strong warranty. The offer is available now for all new electric and plug-in hybrid Ford passenger vehicles.
When customers in Ireland buy a new electric or plug-in hybrid Ford, the company will arrange to install a home charger at their residence. Customers only need to pay a small token fee of €10. The charger, supplied by ChargeGuru, usually costs €1,299.
To take advantage of this offer, buyers must also apply for the SEAI Home Charger Grant in advance. This grant reduces the installation cost by €300. However, the grant only covers standard installations. Any unusual or complex installation costs will be the responsibility of the customer.
The Ford Power Promise package also includes an eight-year or 160,000-kilometre warranty on key high-voltage parts such as the battery and electric motor. In addition, Ford offers a five-year service plan that covers two scheduled maintenance visits.
Ford is also providing five years of roadside assistance. This service covers vehicle recovery even if the car runs out of charge because of the driver’s oversight. To help prevent this, the FordPass app gives access to about 750 public charging points across Ireland. These are part of the ‘Ford BlueOval Charge Network,’ making charging easier for Ford EV owners.
