Southampton is benefiting from new technology aimed at preventing cable theft and enhancing reliability for electric vehicle drivers. InstaVolt, the UK’s largest ultra-rapid EV charging network, is rolling out CableGuard across its charging points nationwide, including in Southampton.
Launched in April 2025, CableGuard is designed to protect EV charger cables from theft—a growing issue that disrupts driver access and incurs costly replacements.
