Apple looks ready to upgrade wireless charging once again with the launch of its upcoming iPhone 17 series. Recent reports and regulatory filings suggest the company is preparing new MagSafe chargers that support the latest Qi2.2 wireless charging standard.
This new technology could more than double the current wireless charging speeds available for iPhones.
According to a report by 91Mobiles, Apple’s next-generation MagSafe chargers were recently spotted on Taiwan’s National Communications Commission (NCC) certification website. This listing suggests that the new chargers are in the final stages of development and regulatory approval.
The launch is expected to take place later this year, likely alongside the debut of the iPhone 17. If confirmed, the addition of Qi2.2 support would mark a major step forward in Apple’s wireless charging capabilities, offering faster and more efficient charging for future iPhone users.
