TR has launched a new product line of sustainable fasteners following a comprehensive research and development program. The new fasteners offer strong mechanical performance while cutting raw material CO2 emissions by up to 90% compared to those made from prime-grade plastics.
As industries like lighting, power, data, and water infrastructure face growing pressure from environmental laws and evolving design standards, the demand for tough yet eco-friendly components is increasing. However, the global market for sustainable plastics is still largely focused on single-use items.
TR identified a key opportunity in the engineered fastener segment — an area lacking high-performance sustainable solutions.
To address this, the company carried out extensive trials. These included deep material research, mechanical testing, moulding trials, and accelerated heat ageing studies on a range of materials. One material stood out: a 100% recycled nylon that matched the performance of prime materials in both processability and strength.
With this new product line, TR aims to lead the way in delivering durable, environmentally responsible fasteners for critical infrastructure applications.
