Starting May 23, 2025, Haneda Airport will introduce a new set of electric vehicle (EV) chargers in its P1 and P4 parking areas. This move aims to support greener travel by making it easier for EV drivers to charge their cars while at the airport.
Travelers, whether on short layovers or long trips, can now quickly charge their cars. Fast chargers will cost 44 yen per minute, perfect for quick top-ups. For longer parking stays, standard charging outlets will be available at 200 yen per hour. Imagine coming back from your trip and finding your EV fully charged and ready to drive home without any emissions.
This initiative is more than just a new service. It is part of Haneda Airport’s promise to become more environmentally friendly by 2030. As one of the busiest airports in Asia, Haneda is helping Japan reach its national goal of installing 300,000 EV chargers by 2030. Currently, there are about 40,000 chargers across the country. This plan is a step toward cleaner travel and better infrastructure for the future.
