Guests at Michels & Taylor hotels will soon find it easier to charge their electric vehicles (EVs). PE, the UK’s largest independent energy supplier, has teamed up with Michels & Taylor to install EV charging stations across the hotel group’s properties.
The chargers are simple to use: just tap, charge, and go. They provide up to 22kW of power, adding about 50 miles of driving range per hour of charging.
Currently, chargers are active at Hilton Bournemouth, DoubleTree by Hilton Elstree, and DoubleTree by Hilton Stoke-on-Trent. Six more locations, including Holiday Inn Bolton and DoubleTree by Hilton Cheltenham, will get chargers soon.
Michels & Taylor has already cut 1,025 tonnes of CO₂ emissions over five years. This new EV charging program is a key step in their sustainability efforts.
PE offers a flat charging rate of 57p per kWh, which is 29% cheaper than the UK average. As PE energy customers, the hotels can use the revenue from charging to offset electricity costs, helping improve profits.
This initiative also makes sustainable travel more accessible for hotel guests.
